Hi Rod, Your comments on SCWCD is very useful. I was wondering if you have any online websites to mention for mock exams. Do you think that just reading "Heads First Servlet and JSP" book wouldn't help me get through the exam? Any comments will be appreciated.

Abhi,

I would recommend picking up a copy of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Java2-Certification-Study-Guide/dp/0782144195/sr=8-5/qid=1158675227/
">this book</a>.

Unlike a lot of other SCJP books, this one doesn't try to teach you Java. It assumes you know Java quite well already, and it covers ONLY the more technical stuff that you need to know fot the exam. As an example, it doesn't bother telling you what ints and longs and floats are, but it does cover the ranges for those primitives and the rules for coercion in arithmetic expressions.

It's a very informative book and a very quick read. It certainly taught me a lot of things I didn't know, and I had a much better grasp of the language after reading it, plus a nifty lapel pin.

As a bonus, the second portion of the book is devoted to covering the SCJD exam, in case you become interested in doing that one as well.

Rod,
Can you tell me about how to go about preparing for SCJP Exam? I am a corporate trainer in Java, but have no official qualification in the field (like sun certification). I THINK I know enough to pass the exm, but have no way of being sure. If you could tell me how you went about preparing for SCJP Exam, it would be great.

Thanks, mate!
