I’m also setting up a playlist for Halloween. A few outside yours…Concrete Blonde “Bloodletting: The Vampire Song”; Warren Zevon “Werewolves of London”, and “92 Degrees” and “Cities in Dust” by Siouxsie and the Banshees (more Goth than Halloweenie…but danceable!)

I would recommend Fingathing’s Iron Man from their new Apocalypso EP. They are british and obscure, but the song is just begging to be on a halloween playlist.

How about Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ “Red Right Hand”? I had it on my Halloween list last year, and it went over really well.

However, the music I added from Zombies Ate My Neighbors didn’t…

Extremely good list. There are certainly a few picks I’d disagree with, but you make up for it all just by including “Hell Awaits” by Slayer and a couple of AC/DC songs. My only criticism is that you left out the single best Satan-oriented song ever written: “Black Sabbath”, by the band of the same name. It’s fantastic.

Mr. Hilton,
Just wanted to say thank you. I’m a deployed soldier (deployed since July 2005) and my unit recently requested that I DJ our Halloween party this year. I’ve DJ’d for almost as many years as I’ve been a soldier (10yrs) and have to say that your list gave me the spark I needed to ensure my fellow soldiers a great time. Thanks again. PS: Midnight Syndicate (full alb.), Alice Cooper (Feed my Frankenstein), Billy Idol (In the Midnight Hour), Marylin Manson (I Put a Spell On You -also done by Bette Middler and Screamin Jay Hawkins)… I can go on more, but don’t want to use up all your space. Thanks Again for juste enough “spark”…..

I think you could get a couple of Meatloaf songs in there, e.g. “Bat out of hell” and “I’d do anything for love” (the latter has vampires in the music video, even if the song itself doesn’t seem that relevant).
