Hey man, thank you so much for writing this; it makes me feel like I can actually do it. 6 years ago in high school, I was 150, 155 on a fat day and now I'm 240, so 90 lbs. is exactly what I need to lose. I'm only 5'6", so that's probably an ideal weight for me. Again, thank you. It really inspires confidence and I greatly admire your resolve!

You are absolutely amazing! Not only for your awesome weight loss but because the entire content you posted here doesn't have a single proofread error! :D That is no mean achievement Dude!! (Yeah...I can be an anal retentive bitch... I start reading someone's weight loss story and the minute I read "To loose weight," well, I can't go on!)

That apart, your story is really inspirational. Kudos!!

I am in the process of doing exactly what you did and I didn't know it ... ;-) I lost nearly 80 pounds in the past 8 months 21 days and my goal is to lose 90 within a year, same
as you did. I just have 13 pounds more to lose within the next 3 months and 9 days and I'll be there. (It shouldn't be a problem !) I weighed 203 pounds this morning.

Nov. 1st 2008 : 280 pounds
Nov. 1st 2009 : 190 pounds, hopefully.

No nutritionist for me but I researched a lot to know what I should be eating. I control my portions but I eat normally,
just a lot more veggies, grains, etc. Very rarely do I have sweets or empty calories.

I work out hard about 6 times per week, 45 minutes to an hour each time. All of this on my own, no gym membership.
I like cycling and jogging, doing jumping jacks and other calisthenic exercises too. I also lift some free weights regularly .... big changes !

I set my goal right from the get go, 90 pounds ... then I split this for the 12 months of the year and each month is split as well
so I have weekly weigh ins .... it's hard sometimes of course but I am doing it ... I don't give up.

This is the 2nd time I do something like this in my life, in the early 90's I lost 30 pounds within 100 days ... I needed more time
now because I had more weight to lose. Now I vouch not to stop training as I did back in 2001 and watch what I eat so I can
keep the weight off.

I was pleased to find your page today as we have similar journeys.

The one tip I have is that when you start losing weight go to your local supermarket/store and pick up an equivalent weight to the amount you've lost.

For example, losing 5lbs may not sound that impressive but if you go and pick up two 1kg bags of sugar you'll appreciate how well you've actually done.

Wow, what great advice! I'm so sick of having tried just about every diet out there. I never stick to it because I always feel deprived and angry that I have to be on a diet while everyone else is eating the "good stuff!" Thanks for the suggestions...I really love the idea of setting goals and rewards. Congrats!! Keep posting and let us know if you are able to keep if off!!!
