I mostly bother about the project and technologies that i am goign to use in my project. as i am great lover of java, i always never get chance to work on complete java work :( . this is more frustrating to me. sometimes i may get to work with drag&drop tools(no coding). from last one year, i have been changing projects still no luck. now thinking of to quit organization and look for a nice java project. you are lucky u got a gud project. all the best!!

I TOTALLY AGREE with what you've said... There have been instances when I've had pretty bad experiences with people around, because of which, I completely lost interest in the work I was doing. When people around and the project you are working on is pretty good, Company hardly matters..!!!

"if I can live comfortably on my salary then I don’t even think about money. I wonder if that will change as I advance in my career."

Interesting you say that, as it has the opposite for me. In early programming days, I found myself more concerned with money as I was at a "just-graduated" salary. I'd had a fourth "being paid somewhat fairly" pillar, and raises weren't being allotted particularly fairly by performance, even as the quality of the work I did was at the same level as more experienced programmers. But yes, for me to leave, the Paid Fairly Pillar required a fall of the Project Pillar, with the shaking of the Company pillar as well.

A couple of jobs and salary jumps later, either I don't have that pillar anymore or it's there and I'm just not particularly concerned with it as I'm being paid in the "somewhat fairly" range. Presumably I'll be fine with that pillar for some time.

"I have never been unsatisfied with money, so I don’t really even think about it". You're a very lucky man.

Many developers are underpaid. You work hard, you're congratulated everyday, good chair, it simply doesn't cut it.

Money is the most important pillar of job satisfaction for most people, big monitors, great communication, "nice words hehe", etc. come next.
